Rogue River Outfitters
Rogue River Bay Salmon Fishing
At Rogue River Outfitters Sept through part of Oct is very busy. We not only fish the canyon of the Rogue River, but on occassion we visit the Rogue Bay. The Rogue River ends and dumps into the Pacific Ocean about 40 miles west of our take out point on our canyon trips. Gold Beach is located here at the mouth of the Rogue.
Gold Beach Oregon is the home to Rogue River Fall Chinook Salmon fishing. Thousands of early Fall Chinook Salmon will enter the 3 mile long Rogue River estuary starting in early July and peaking in mid September.
Rogue River Fall Chinook run large and very fresh from the sea. 23lb to 30lb Fall Chinook are most common here on the Lower Rogue River, although in recent years there have been Rogue River Fall Chinook of 66lb and one that broke the World Record for Fly Fishing at 71.5lb in 2002!
Nearly all of the Rogue River Salmon fishing is for wild salmon stocks, very few hatchery Fall King Salmon are found in the Rogue River. Salmon fishing is good here until mid to late October.
The Rogue River also boasts on the largest runs of Coho Salmon (Silvers). We fish these beauties with light trolling gear or light spinning tackle and spinners. Coho usually run from 6 to 12 pounds and give you a work out.
Rogue River Fall Salmon Fishing is done with our powerboat. The King Salmon here are numerous and aggressive, with our decades of Rogue River Salmon Fishing experience your day with us will be comfortable and productive!
As you can see we spend much of our Fall on the Rogue River. If you have not had a chance to experience what this wonderful river can offer give us a call and let Rogue River Outfitters share it with you.
