2011 Oregon Fishing
  Winter Steelhead/Chinook Salmon Fishing

Winter Steelhead Fishing: January – March is some of the best steelhead fishing of the year. We fish for Winter Steelhead on our Oregon Coastal rivers, primarily the Alsea, Nestucka and our favorite the Siletz. Winter steelhead average 8 to 10 pounds, 28 to 30 inches with our personal best of 28 pounds and 44 inches long. We fish from a 16 or 20 foot McKenzie River drift boat, equipped with comfortable seating and a heater for cool days.

We provide all rods, tackle and bait necessary for our fishing day. There are as many techniques to catch a steelhead as there are rivers to fish for them. The key to catching steelhead is to match the techniques with the river, weather and water conditions.

We do our best to fish where the fish are and to match the method of fishing to the conditions of that day, these two things increase your odds tenfold.

A quick personal note from the owner,

"In my humble opinion steelhead are the greatest sports fish swimming in our rivers and winter steelhead are no exception.  Steelhead hit hard, fight hard, jump, run, tug and tail dance.  Steelheads do it all.

I spend much of my year; winter, summer and fall in pursuit of steelhead and I enjoy every minute of it."

Salmon Fishing: April-Spring Chinook Salmon Fishing here in Oregon can begin as early as March but April is a definite month for Salmon. You will usually find hunting these elusive fish on the Columbia in or near Portland Oregon. You may even find us on the Willamette River from Eugene to Oregon City. One thing is for sure, we will follow the big fish where ever they go in Oregon.
